Number 22: Read 101 Books and Number 4: Finish My Novel

Another book bites the dust as Stephen Fry's The Fry Chronicles came to a close late last week. I still love Mr Fry after reading, but maybe if it wasn't Stephen Fry, I'd think that this lucky, well off Norfolker was a bit of a stuck up twat. I don't know how he did it, but even someone as loathing of the upper class (and worse still, the upper middle class) continued to love him all the way though. He has an excellent way with words, and a wonderful way of building up to a climax. Certainly, Fry has worked with some of the most brilliant minds, and has sweetly, quietly, without trumpet call, taken part in some great parts of TV, musical and film history.

So onto number 3, another autobiography by Emma Kennedy, I Left My Tent in San Francisco. Similar to TTTBAM, ILMTSF documents Kennedy's disasters abroad, this time a decade later and sadly without her eccentric and loveable parents.

With regards to task 4: Finish my Novel, I am of course, talking about the first book of my Time Keeper trilogy. This book has been written, rewritten, screwed up, deleted and written all over again a few times, but the original original (handwritten in a binder, completed nearly 10 years ago) and the original (written on my ancient PC) need some maturing. Although it's an old idea, it's one I have faith in and I think could work. So I have lazily completed the first chapter (which only required little effort) and make a condensed start at the second. I've always struggled with the second chapter. Second chapter syndrome.
